Alongside a volunteer local organizing committee from across western Canada, TECTERRA has taken lead in the planning and production of the internationally acclaimed Free and Open Source Software for Geospatial (FOSS4G) 2020, OSGeo’s annual global conference held in a different city each year since 2004. FOSS4G, held on August 24-29, 2020 in Calgary, Alberta, is the world’s largest gathering of open source geospatial users, developers and researchers, which regularly attracts over 1,000 attendees.
TECTERRA believes that bringing FOSS4G to Calgary will highlight our city as an emerging technology hub for geospatial in Canada and internationally. Organizing this conference has already provided a springboard to reinvigorate the open source community in Alberta, and to disseminate the FOSS4G technology among the entrepreneurial, innovative, academic, and business communities.
Why Calgary?
Join us at FOSS4G through six days of workshops, presentations, discussions, and networking, and help us create effective and relevant geospatial products, standards, and protocols.
